Biographies

Lucinda Collins
Piano

Lucinda Collins has performed widely throughout Australia, as well as giving numerous broadcasts for ABC Classic FM. After undergraduate study at the Elder Conservatorium under German pianist Professor Stefan Ammer, she was awarded the Elder Overseas Scholarship in Music. She has given concerts in the United Kingdom and Korea.

In 1997, Lucinda became a lecturer in piano at the Elder Conservatorium of Music. Since 2000, she has held the position of Head of Piano and coordinates the chamber music program.

Anna Goldsworthy
Piano

Anna Goldsworthy is Director of the Elder Conservatorium of Music, and an award-winning pianist, writer, and festival director. She performs widely with a range of collaborators and with Seraphim Trio, and is a celebrated writer of memoir, fiction and works for the stage, including the bestselling memoir Piano Lessons. Anna has directed numerous music festivals, and in 2024 directs the Music and Mountains Festival in Queenstown, New Zealand.

Konstantin Shamray
Piano

Australian-based pianist Konstantin Shamray has garnered a reputation as an exhilarating performer with faultless technique and fearless command of the piano. Here in Australia Konstantin enjoys working with its leading orchestras and at the most prestigious concert halls. Season highlights include concerto performances with the Sydney and Adelaide Symphony Orchestras, recitals at Sydney Opera House Utzon Room, Melbourne Recital Centre and the UKARIA Cultural Centre amongst many other engagements. Konstantin looks forward to his return to Chamber Landscapes as part of the Adelaide Festival enormously.

Elizabeth Layton
Violin

Described as "one of the most outstanding performers of her generation" (The Strad), Elizabeth Layton enjoys a varied career playing at festivals throughout Australia and New Zealand. She is Head of Classical Performance at the Elder Conservatorium, and a regular guest Concertmaster with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra.

A former concertmaster of the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Elizabeth has toured chamber music worldwide with the Nash Ensemble. Her recordings are available on DG, Hyperion, Chandos, Naxos and NMC.

Lloyd Van't Hoff
Clarinet

Lloyd Van’t Hoff is a clarinettist, chamber musician, collaborator and educator who has created and performed music around the world. In Australia, Lloyd won the 2015 ABC Symphony Australia Young Performer of the Year Award and has been a regular performer at major arts festivals.

As a collaborator, Lloyd played a featured role in the Aria award-winning project, Conversations With Ghosts, alongside Paul Kelly, Genevieve Lacey and James Ledger. Lloyd is a founding member of Arcadia Winds, Australia’s leading young wind ensemble, and Musica Viva’s Inaugural FutureMakers.
